Elizabeth Yuvonne Simonton

Elizabeth Yuvonne Simonton, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in Henderson County. She was born on May 19, 1938 in Huntingdon, TN. She was a teacher for 33 years and a member of the Henderson County Retired Teachers Association. In those years she taught at Vale and Lexington High School. She was a Cheer and Beta Club Sponsor at Lexington High School. She is survived by 2 sons, John Simonton (Amanda) and Jamie Simonton (Janet); 2 granddaughters, Rachel Simonton and Sarah Simonton; 3 step grandchildren, Ryan McMackin (Elizabeth), Chelsey McMackin, and Hannah McMackin; and 4 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John F. Simonton; parents, Tommy and Pauline Milam; 2 brothers, Joe Milam and Billy Milam; and a sister, Gwen Page. Funeral services will be at Reed's Chapel on Friday, January 31 at 2PM with burial to follow in Jones Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1PM-9PM and Friday from 9AM until service.
