Elizabeth Anne Stanford

Elizabeth Anne Stanford, 89, of Chillicothe passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024. She was born in Chillicothe on May 5, 1934 to the late Howard C. and Nellie Robinson Miller. On December 18, 1955 she married James Robert Stanford, who died Oct 21, 2016.
Surviving are her daughter, Jamie S. and her husband Christopher M. Albert, of Maineville, Ohio; sister-in-law Amey Van Voorhis, of Chillicothe, and brother-in-law Steve Nelson, of Orient; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, sister-in-law Emily Nelson, brother-in-law Bill Van Voorhis, and cousins Barbara Downing, Carolyn Baker and Bob McNish.
Libby retired in 2000 as the librarian at Unioto High School after 40 years of service. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University. She was a member of the National Education Association, Ohio Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the American Association of University Women.
Those who knew Libby will remember her as independent, kind and generous. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, an assistant at the Children's Clothing Bank for years, a strong supporter of Ross County 4-H, and a volunteer for the Ross County Democratic Party.
She loved her lifetime home in Ross County where she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and pets. Libby enjoyed reading, attending the county fair, vacationing at the beach, and tending to the yard on sunny summer days.
Libby is a mother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
Friends may call from 2:00–3:00pm Thursday, April 18, 2024 at FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm with Rev. Dr. Jason T. Link, officiating.
