Elizabeth "Betty" Stone, 87, former longtime resident of Wilton, NH, died on March 5, 2024, at Ledgewood Bay, Milford, NH after a period of declining health.
She was born on June 28, 1936, in Portland, ME, a daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian (Schwenke) Cotton.
Elizabeth was raised educated in South Portland, ME and graduated from South Portland High School class of 1954.
She married Roy Stone and together made their home in Wilton for many years. Betty worked for many years at PVA as an administrative assistant. She and Roy enjoyed time spent traveling in retirement. She also liked to watch figure skating and sports on TV, painting and time spent with her family and her friends.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her stepson, Mark Stone, her siblings, Robert Cotton and Jean Pippin and her beloved husband, Roy Stone.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Brian Schaefer of Milford, NH, her son Patrick Clarke, her stepchildren, David and Linda Stone of MA, Step daughter-in-law, Deborah Stone of MA and Peter Stone also of MA. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: In accordance with her wishes burial will be private in the spring at the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Wilton, NH.
