Smith & Heald Funeral HomeRobert C. Byrd, 72, longtime resident of Milford, NH, died at his home on October 11, 2025, after a period of declining health.
He was born on September 28, 1953, in Nashua, NH, a son of the late Richard and Cynthia (Bryant) Byrd.
Bob was raised and educated in Milford, graduating from Milford High School class of 1971. Following high school, he entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1975.
He worked for many years in the aviation field. Most recently for Nashua Jet Aviation. He was also employed by T.R. Langdell Auctioneer for many years and worked at TechNH in Merrimack, N.H. and Marmon Industries, formally Hendrix Wire and Cable in Milford, N.H.
Bob was a committed member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 30 years. He had just received a Medallion for 34 years of sobriety.
Bob enjoyed time spent fishing, building bird and bat houses and traveling.
Bob is survived by his three siblings, Rebecca Byrd – Denehy and her husband Kevin of Brookline, NH, Brian and his wife Debbie Byrd of Milford, NH, James and his wife Ann Byrd of Nashua, NH and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: In accordance with his wishes there will be no calling hours held. A celebration of life will be held on Oct.29, 2025 at the Nashua Airport, Hanger 91, from 2 PM to 5 PM. His burial will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bob can be made to the Nashua Humane Society, a charity that was close to Bob’s heart.
