Elizabeth "Lizzie/Liz" Harding Weinstein passed away at the age of 53, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering love for her children. She was known for her persistence and enduring commitment to those she loved and served.
Born in Milford, Massachusetts, Lizzie was the beloved daughter of Verna (Johnson) and Vaughn Harding. She spent her early years in Northbridge, MA, before moving to Hyannis during high school. She graduated from Barnstable High School, Class of 1990, and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston University.
Lizzie later moved to New York City, where she pursued her calling in nursing, earning her RN from Columbia University. A true caregiver at heart, she served bravely and selflessly during the 9/11 attacks, providing care and comfort in one of the city's darkest hours. She later settled in Westchester, where she built a loving home and raised her family with her former husband Brian in Briarcliff Manor, NY.
Above all, Lizzie was a devoted mother to her three cherished children: Max Stryker Harding Weinstein, Ella Stryker Harding Weinstein, and Jack Stryker Harding Weinstein. She is also survived by her loving parents, Verna (Johnson) and Vaughn Harding of Hyannis; her siblings, Brenda and her husband Rob Misuraca of Raleigh, NC and Paul R. Harding of Fountain Valley, CA; three nieces Alexandra, Emily, and Addison; two nephews Robert and Jake; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Lizzie's passion, courage, and resolute spirit touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday July 15, 2025 at 11 am in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville. Calling hours at the funeral home in Whitinsville are Monday July 14 from 4 to 7 pm. Paddle family

July 16, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we remember our dear friend and paddle teammate, Lizzie.

Lizzie was a force. Full of energy, laughter, and undeniable presence. Whether on the paddle court or simply walking into a room, she brought life and light wherever she went. Her competitive spirit and electric energy were unmatched. She didn´t just play the game she left a lasting impression.

But Lizzie was more than just an athlete and teammate. She was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a fighter in every sense of the word. Despite the challenges she faced, she remained unwavering in her love for her children and her determination to show up for those around her. Through it all, Lizzie carried herself with strength, grace, and a smile that never faded.

Her presence touched so many, and her loss leaves a space that cannot be filled. We will miss her joy, her courage, her humor, and her heart. Paddle and life won´t be the same without her, but we will carry her spirit with us always.

With love and remembrance
Your paddle family

Dear Max and Ella,

When I think of your mom, a smile comes to my face as I remember her dedication to you both as you strove to be the strong, kind, and loyal individuals you were destined to become. While only middle schoolers at RCDS, each of you possessed and shared individual characteristics and qualities I witnessed embedded in your mother.

Your mom's entrance into my classroom always brought a smile to my face, well, because her smile was broad and welcoming. and disarming. Not EVERY teacher~parent chat was destined to go well, but ours always were. She wanted the best for you academically and knew the importance of the written and spoken word and sought for you both to embrace the gifts of reading solid literature and the joy of crafting writing that conveyed the inner feelings of YOU, the writer ~ NOT simply a recitation of given details from the book! Each of you has a soul of a poet, and I so hope you have continued to give life to what your mother and I saw as true gifts.

Specifically, Max, I am still touched by your devotion and kindness to a fellow classmate who also joined the school in sixth grade that lasted for all of your years at RCDS. YOU(!) and Oliver gave that talented youngster a chance when others did not and through your loyalty and support you helped expose his talents and human value and your own compassion. From what I know of your mom, she had something to do with that growing virtue.

ELLA! You had and still have a spark that is electrifying. A whirling dervish! Like Max, you wanted to learn and excelled in everything you touched, always searching to improve what was already a good 'product'. Better though was the ease with which you 'worked a room' as the saying goes. You simply has an ease about you that allowed for you to begin a conversation, add a point to a literary discussion, or insert a giggle with that infectious laugh soon to come. You brought folk together as did your mother.

Fortunately, I did share these observations and thoughts with your mom at various times. She was so very proud of you both, and like a devoted Mom, when I gave a nod to her for her obvious dedication, she humbly smiled and shared a hug. Bet you didn't know that!

As I write this, I am smiling as I can see in my mind's eye the events. It is my sincere hope that the same comes to you, perhaps in time.

Max and Ella, Mr. and Mrs. Harding, I offer you my sincere condolences and love,

Miss McDonald

My deepest condolences to all those who loved Lizzie.
I admired her exuberant personality, her insightfulness as well as her advocacy for and support of those left vulnerable in the aftermath of domestic abuse.
After meeting her on a CT ski club trip to Tignes, France in January 2025 & attending her sensational birthday party in February at a golf club in Greenwich, she introduced me to Rockefeller State Park Preserve where she had so many fond memories of spending time with her children. Schedules permitting, we would meet the 1st Sunday of the month for a hike there. We walked, talked & supported one another on Easter and Mother's Day as well. Lizzie noticed I was wearing the friendship bracelet she had gifted me and another gal celebrating the same birthday during the Trip to France. She commented that she wanted to be buried with the multitude of handmade friendship bracelets she wore always (together with the golden one she had gifted us). I assured her that she had decades before needing to think along those lines...
Lizzie was beautiful inside and out. She had a huge heart.
May her soul be blessed with the warmth, tlc and joy she imparted to others and was so deserving of in this life.
Her passing is a tremendous loss for all of us. I am grateful that I got to know her.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her Family but especially to Lizzie's dearly beloved children.
Most sincerely,
Monica

I first met Elizabeth Harding Weinstein in the early days of "The Shadow Pandemic" in 2022, just as I began writing my book.

She and Catherine were already on my radar, forces to be reckoned with, and soon, we connected.

Elizabeth was a fierce advocate. She lent me her strength when I needed it most, and I know, I speak for many others in saying she lent us, her voice.

Her sincerity and determination helped shine a light on the silent war being waged against mothers during a time many refused to even look.

She truly was a "care giver" - for people, for justice, for truth. Elizabeth was brilliant and tenacious with big caring eyes better to see everything with and a smile that made you feel seen. She will be deeply missed. She was a soldier in the war on women. A true pioneer among us in The Mother´s Revolution. A trailblazer in the fight to abolish a family court system that has failed far too many.

Elizabeth was loved and her light, her legacy WILL not be forgotten.

GIRL! I love you so much! You were the most alive person I ever knew. You endured the cruelest pain yet continued to love and love and love and love. You also swore like a sailor so I won´t drop all the F bombs on this respectable funeral site, even though a true message for you would have them. Thank you for teaching me never to give up and thank you for loving my children the way you did. I pray you are hanging with the fiercest Advocate for children and the One who, like you, was well-acquainted with grief. I keep thinking maybe this is one elaborate trick and you´re gonna show up laughing hysterically, balloons in hand, telling us all to eff off because you´ll never die. I love you, girl. Long time.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Harding & Family:
My heart and prayers go out to you all during this very tragic and heartbreaking loss. Some of us had the chance to meet Lizzie amidst one of her favorite passions, tennis, in Stamford.

One fond memory I had of her was when she first met met she asked (insisted) to play singles with me- for fun/rally. She was very boisterous, a chatty "Kathy" and I remember what a killer forehand she had. I remember laughing and ranking her a high level 4.5/5.0 and told her I had to really keep up. She was always very lively and had lots of high energy and always very helpful with strategic tips too.
I will always think of her next time I´m at the courts of the IC... she will be remembered and not forgotten. May God rest her beautiful soul now and always & May she rest in eternal peace.
