Elizabeth Margaret Wright, age 73, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Claymont, died on Sunday 7/13/25 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Liz graduated from Brandywine High School. Her most important degrees are in the art of compassion, being head of the class in humility and a master's degree in loving those in need.

From cleaning the Wilmington Railroad to On-Board Service Management at Amtrak, she was respected and promoted throughout her career. Her co-workers were friends and admirers. Liz retired from Amtrak with over 20 years of service.

Liz earned and celebrated 30 years of continuous sobriety through the grace of God and the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Liz enjoyed gardening, camping and travel – especially to visit her sister in Hawaii. She adored her grandchildren and was especially close to her granddaughter Aryana. Liz and her husband Greg loved their tie-dye shirts and filling their home with people they love.

Liz was a fighter until the end and always a peacemaker.

Liz is survived by her husband Greg Wright; daughter Lisa Yousefkhanian; son-in-law Edmund; grandchildren Armand, Aryana and Aidan Yousefkhanian; great grandchildren Ronan and Orion Sullivan, and Anahit and Adelaide Yousefkhanian; and sister Claudia Cababa of Hawaii and her husband, Robin.

Liz was predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Claudia Akroyd, and first husband, Donald G. Ewald.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, July 28 at 10 am at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE where a memorial service will be held at 11 am.
