Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Yelverton, 63, passed away on August 8, 2024, in Groves, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 12, 1960, in Port Arthur, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her caring nature and warm demeanor.
Liz was the daughter of James Yelverton, Sr. and MarieAnn Boudreaux. She was a lifelong resident of Groves. Liz found joy in the simple things in life. She had a passion for plants, cooking, baking, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren, who brought happiness to her days. She also loved her job as a home health provider.
In the midst of our grief, we remember Liz's living family members and friends. She is survived by her mother, MarieAnn Lee of Port Arthur; daughters, Ally Diaz of Port Arthur; Denise Watler and husband, Jesse of Groves and Kriste Pena and husband, Robert of Groves; eight cherished grandchildren: Tylor Naquin, Caden Naquin, Noah Campos, Nikolas Watler, Jessika Watler, Elizardo Pena, Zoey Pena, and Santiago Pena. Additionally, she leaves behind her sisters Lisa Ann Morrison and husband, Barry of Nederland; Alice Hanson of Katy; Cheryl Biddy and husband, Robbie of Kountze; brothers, Augury Lee and wife, Kim of Port Arthur and Chris Borel and wife, Robin of Nacogdoches; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Liz is preceded in death by her father, James Yelverton, Sr.; daughter, Lisa Marie Naquin; and brother, Lawrence Borel. They now rest in peace, reunited with Liz in eternal serenity.
A visitation to honor Liz's life will take place on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by a funeral service on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM, at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Yelverton will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives she graced. May she rest in peace, knowing she was cherished and admired by many.
