Wilburn “Will” Gouthier, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Groves, Tx, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the age of 73. Will was born to Wilburn Norbert Gouthier, Sr. and Florence Arey Gouthier on May 12, 1952. He worked as an electrician for Christopher Electric for 30 years and was a member of Local 479 IBEW Union for 45 years. A life-long classic car and hot rod enthusiast, Will was a member of Spindletop Street Rods for many years and organized the Office Depot Cruise Night events. He spent a lifetime promoting the hobby he loved and relished his time in the shop he built (“Paw Paw’s Big Blue Garage”) restoring classic cars and showcasing his 1940 Ford Coupe, 1948 English Ford Anglia, and 1957 Chevy 210 Wagon at local and national car shows. Will was admired for his quiet strength, ability to fix and restore anything, and willingness to always lend a helping hand. He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Will is survived by his wife of 30 years, Regina Gouthier; children, Brandon Gouthier and his wife, Melissa of Fannett, Misty Castille of Nederland and her partner, Paul Schinnerer, and stepson, Jason Yandell of Woodville and his partner, Karen; grandchildren, Makayla Pirtle and her fiancé, Caleb Blanchard, Kade Castille, and Flora Gouthier. He is also survived by his siblings, Marsha Clay of Conroe, Debbie Gouthier and Don Townsend of Phoenix, and Rodney Gouthier and his wife, Jodie of Port Neches.
Friends and family are invited to honor Will's life during a gathering of family and friends on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 9:00am to 11:00am, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00am, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Texas 77627. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
We are especially grateful to the entire team of Compassion Hospice. This month would have been much more difficult without the loving work of his healthcare providers, Stephanie and Belle.
