A retired school teacher, Ella Jean had a profound love for teaching children. Her passion for education extended beyond the classroom as she also served as a librarian, earning the prestigious title of Librarian of the Year. Her commitment to fostering a love of learning in others was truly inspirational.
A devout member of Beulah Land Baptist Church, Ella Jean's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She cherished the fellowship and community she found there.
Known for her vibrant spirit, Ella Jean was a social butterfly who loved spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed festival season in New Orleans and singing in the community choir. Her sharp mind kept her engaged in word search puzzles, and she treasured the moments spent with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ella Jean is preceded in death by her loving parents, Joseph Coleman and Cleotha Coleman, her brother Vernon, and her sister Delores. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her children Wayne and Toni, her brother Sterling (Rosie), sisters Mary Louise, Jackie and Josie (CJ), and a host of nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren Amber, Ryan, and Addison, and great-grandchildren Storm and Summer will carry forward her legacy of joy and wisdom.
Ella Jean's radiant presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her spirit continue to inspire and guide us

I will miss my talks and laughs with Cousin Ella Jean. I was so sorry when I heard she had passed. Our condolences to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
