Ella M. Hodnett

Ella M. Hodnett, 81, of 14th Street, Jamestown, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, Jamestown, N.Y. Ella was born on May 5, 1944, in Pittsylvania County, VA, the daughter of the late Junior and Sissy A. Vanhook Davis. Ella worked as a caregiver and also worked at Weber Knapp for several years. She enjoyed bowling, doing word searches and watching Western movies. Her main priority was raising and caring for her children and her grandchildren, and she loved spending time with all of them. Ella is survived by her son: Scott Hodnett of Jamestown, N.Y.; her daughter: Denise Hodnett Taylor and her husband Cecil of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren: Andra (Chad) TenPas, Nicy Hodnett, Dominick Taylor and Cinenna (Chris) Wright; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lucille (Joe) Clarett and Pauline Herndon and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ella is preceded in death by a brother: Hayward Davis and a sister: Gloria Northington. Family suggests memorial contributions to Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, N.Y. 14701. Family and friends may visit at Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home, 316 E. 5th Street, Jamestown, N.Y. on Saturday from 1-2 PM.
