Samuel Vincent Caruso 73, of Jamestown, NY passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2025. A son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Antonuccio Caruso, Sam was born October 27,1951 in Jamestown, NY and attended Jamestown Public Schools. In his younger years, Sam loved his time out in the woods hunting, spotting deer, and being in nature. He had a passion for golf where he would spend countless hours on the golf course. Each year he looked forward to being a part of the Italian American Golf Fundraiser. Besides hunting and golfing, he was an avid automobile enthusiast and took pride in owning a rare 1969 YenkoCamaro. A true die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan most of his life, he came to love the Buffalo Bills. Sam began his career in construction. As a member of the Local Laborer's union, he worked on the Chautauqua Lake Bridge Project that was completed in 1982. Shortly after its completion, he was diagnosed with diabetes and had to give up the hard work he loved. Sam spent the following years working on cars and as a car salesman for the Ed Shults Automotive Group. Surviving is his wife, Carol Storms of Florida, a sister, MaryAnn (Mark) Alpaugh of Jamestown, a nephew Mitchell (Allie) Alpaugh of Longmont, CO and many close friends and relatives with a loving mention of his cousin Ron Caruso and dear friend Skip Saddler. Ron was Sam's lifeline most of his life and was by his side until the very end. He was a godsend to Sam especially during his final days. Sam's sister would like to thank Hospice along with his care givers Michael Caruso and Annie Scott for their love, kindness, and compassion. Per Sam's wishes, there will be no formal service and visitation will not be observed. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.
