Ella Mae Duhon Obituary
ABBEVILLE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church honoring the life of Ella Mae Duhon, 78, who passed away on March 17, 2025, at her residence. Reverend François Sainte-Marie will officiate at the funeral mass. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bryan Primeaux, Kodi Hargrave, Tyler Campbell, Scotty Meche, Brandt Duhon, John D. Duhon, III, and Brittany Campbell.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from noon until 9:00 PM a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM; and will continue on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 8:00 AM until 12:45 PM when the procession will depart for the church.
She is survived by her son, John Dudley “D.J.” Duhon, Jr. and his wife, Michelle; three daughters, Nancy L. Bertrand and her husband, Scott, Catrina L. Duhon, and Antionette E. Campbell; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Ervin Abshire; and sisters, Earline Trahan, and Myrtis LeBlanc.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Duhon, Sr.; parents, Avery Abshire and the former Loula Mae Hollier; siblings, Edward “Bujune” Abshire and Verna Key; and son-in-law, Cordell S. Campbell
