Ella Louise "Candy" VanSchuyver, age 65, of Wanette, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 in Norman, Oklahoma.
She was born February 9, 1958 in Bay St. Louis, MS, to Linda Kathryn Fucich.
Candy spent her childhood moving from Bay St. Louis, to New Jersey, to Norman and finally making her permanent home in Wanette, OK. She graduated from Wanette High School in 1976.
She married the love of her life, Michael Lee VanSchuyver in Wanette, on July 11, 1975.
Candy started out as a teacher's assistant and moved to elementary secretary and retired as the superintendent secretary for Wanette Public Schools.
Candy loved fishing, flowers and gardening but most of all she dearly loved each and every one of her family. Candy believed in the Lord above and knew her forever home is with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by; her father; Richard LaRoy Rubrecht.
She is survived by her husband; Michael Lee VanSchuyver, of the home, her mother; Linda Kathryn Hoover and husband Kenneth, her daughter; Keila Dawn Modlin and husband Geoffrey Thomas of Wanette, her son; Michael Lee VanSchuyver II and wife Heather Marie of Wanette, her 8 grandchildren; T.J. Cobb & wife Kaileyn, Bryce Cobb and wife Sophie, Mikey VanSchuyver III, Emily White, Jaxson VanSchuyver, Mylee, Gabe and Abby Modlin, her 3 great-grandchildren; Ryleigh, Lincoln, and Kaiden Cobb, her sister; Cookie Cheffer and husband Chris, her brother; Corky Rubrecht and wife Dena, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Wanette Chapel. Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Wanette with Cliff Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
