Ella Mae Whitehead, 98, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Ella was a retired JCPS employee and faithful member of Auburndale Baptist Church.
She was born on January 12, 1927 in Flat Rock, Kentucky to Starlin and Eva (McCartt) Bryant. She is preceded in death by her Father, Starlin Bryant, Mother, Eva Bryant, Siblings, Gracie Swain, Kenneth Bryant, and Ova Powell.
Ella is survived by her loving Husband of 72 years, Howard Whitehead; Daughters, Janet (Dennis) Roberts and Diane (Tom) Baker; Granddaughters, Stephanie Feathers, Natalie (Megan) Feathers, and Starr Roberts, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy) with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Ella’s memory be made to Auburndale Baptist Church or Crusade for Children.
