Matilda Ellen Woodfill Cochran passed away Wednesday night, December 27, 2023, at Ebeid Hospice.
She was born September 18, 1932 to Edward and Gladys Woodfill in Toledo, OH.
Ellen graduated from DeVilbiss High School and briefly attended UT. She and her beloved Phillip were married May 1951 and soon became the parents of 3 boys: Stephen, Jeffery, and Gregory.
Ellen worked as a teacher's aide for Toledo and Sylvania school districts retiring in the mid-1990s. After retiring she tutored several children over the years.
She and Phil were active members of Christ Presbyterian Church for many years with both serving as Stephen Ministers. For the last several years she has attended Cedar Creek Church.
Ellen is survived by her son Greg (Connie); grandchildren Dustin Armentrout, Sarah Gray, Erica Fanelli, Jesse Cochran; great-grandchildren, Rocco and Cruz Armentrout, and Brooklyn and Chandler Gray; brother Ronald Woodfill; very special niece Marcia Woodfill; and dearest friend, Debra Jacoby.
Ellen was preceded in death by husband Phil (2003), sons Steve (2020) and Jeff 1 month ago, grandson Shawn Armentrout (1998), and brother Charles (2020).
Visitation will be at Walker Funeral Home at 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. Interment will be held privately at a later date at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Ellen's name would be appreciated to Christ Presbyterian Church, Cedar Creek Church or charity of donor's choosing.

I remember how grandma Ellen took myslef and my brothers in as her own grandchildren despite being "step". She was sich and amazing grandmother and great grandmother And cherish every moment we had with her. We will miss her greatly! Love you!!
