Ellen Yvonne Dowden, 82 of Call, TX passed away Monday, December 26, 2022.
Funeral service will be 3 pm Wednesday December 28, 2022 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Davis Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm prior to service.
Born September 21, 1940 to Sam Houston Davis, Sr and Olyer (Denmon), she was raised in Buna, TX, spent some in time in Houston before making her home in Call, TX in 1986. Yvonne, or Nanny as so many called her was kind, tender, caring, and always wanted a hug! She loved her family immensely and supported each of them in anything they did.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Wade of Waller, Belinda Arroyo and fiancé Johnie Dunlap of Call, Roy Allen Denmon and Theresa of Kirbyville, Jessica Biscamp and Jayson of Kirbyville, Chris Dowden and Paula of Call; sisters, Kay Dupuy and Jim of Marskville, LA, Vickie Sowell of Porter; grandchildren, Jason Wade, Tina Dluhy, David Kirkland, Derrick Arroyo, Crystal Palmer, Sam Denmon, Kacie Fyfe, Emilie Liles, Shae Chapman, Tori Dowden, Aron Biscamp, Tayler Biscamp, Jesse Biscamp, Amy Dunlap, Justin Harris, Joey Harris, Travis Harris; and 32 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jessie Dowden; daughters, Penny Yvonne Dowden and Sherry Nadine Denmon; brothers, Sam H Davis, Jr and Kyle Wayne Davis; sister, Virginia Morgan, son-in-law, Mitchel Wade, granddaughter, Jacie Lauren Liles.
