Ellen Ann McClendon Thomas

Ellen Ann McClendon Thomas, a resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on August 15, 2022 at the age of 76. She was a native of Douglasville, Georgia, born on October 8, 1945 to the late Alice Laverne Chambers McClendon and Earl McClendon. Ellen is the beloved wife of 55 years to Jerry Glenn Thomas; cherished mother of Jennifer Catherine Thomas Cowsar and Jason Stephen Thomas; proud grandmother of Zackary Thomas Cowsar, Jasmine Marie Boskent Thomas, Charles Joseph Wright, and Ariel Marie Wright; and caring sister of the late Sandra Howard. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends whom she loved dearly.
Ellen graduated from Phillips High School in Birmingham, Alabama, with the Class of 1963 and later attended Alabama College. She had a career as an account representative and was employed with Slidell Memorial Hospital. Ellen was a practicing Baptist who loved the beach and collecting seashells. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren making arts and crafts and reading her Southern Living magazines. Ellen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
