Ellen Windus Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chiampa Funeral Home on Jan. 3, 2025.
Ellen E. (Bombard) Windus, a kind and loving soul, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at the age of 56.
The third child of Edward and Mary Ellen (McShane) Bombard, Ellen grew up in Northborough, MA, where she developed her love of learning, a strong work ethic, and a deep sense of care for others. Ellen graduated from Algonquin Regional High School as part of the class of 1986. She then pursued her passion for education, earning her teaching degree at Northeastern
University in Boston and later her Master's Degree of Education.
Ellen spent three decades on the West Coast, teaching at multiple schools, most notably at Camas Valley Charter School in Oregon for thirteen years. Recently, Ellen returned to Northborough to work for the Northborough/Southborough School District. Initially, she was a Title 1 Math tutor at ARHS and then became a 6th-grade math teacher at Melican Middle School.
Ellen devoted herself to teaching and inspired countless students with her creative and engaging methods. She supported her students, both inside and outside of her classrooms, and was always willing to give the time and effort to connect and encourage them. Her love for New England sports teams often found its way into her lessons, making learning both fun and
memorable.
Ellen loved spending time with family and friends, treasuring the time spent together and creating cherished and lasting memories. She was always ready for a game of cards, trivia night, and any activity that involved being together. Time spent with Ellen was truly valued: she had a gift for connecting with people and was able to bring joy, laughter, and positivity wherever she went. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering support for her family, friends, colleagues, and students will never be forgotten. Ellen's warmth and vibrant spirit touched all who loved her. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate to have known her.
Ellen is survived by her beloved parents, Ed and Mary Ellen Bombard of Northborough; her siblings Michelle Hallam and husband Eric of Redding, CA, Tim Bombard and wife Tammy of Clinton, MA and Brenda Convery and husband Roger of Northboro, MA; several cherished nieces and nephews; a much-loved great-niece and great-nephews; and her lifelong friend and cousin, Tobey Brinkman. Ellen also leaves behind many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation period at the Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Road, on the Common, Shrewsbury Center, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Funeral Service will follow.
