Ellis Fletcher

Ellis William Fletcher, age 77, of Wells, MN, died Friday, January 13, 2017 at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 19, 10:30 AM at, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN, with Pastor Mary Iverson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday January 18, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Wells Color Guard. Ellis was born June 23, 1939 in North Platte, NE, the son of Earnest and Fern (Howard) Fletcher. After high school, Ellis enlisted in the U. S. Navy was stationed in California, where he served for 10 ½ years. It was there that he met Carolee Rodahl. They were united in marriage November 10, 1962 in San Diego, CA. Ellis and Carolee moved to Wells, MN, where Carolee was born and raised. Ellis worked for Floor Crafters in Wells, prior to opening his own shop, Ellis' Carpet Shop, in 1977. He enjoyed his many clients that he served laying carpets and tile. Ellis retired in 2002. Ellis was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hoot n' Hollar, the Wells Chamber of Commerce and the Wells American Legion where he was a former Commander. He enjoyed fishing when he was able. Ellis loved his family, especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his parents; son Perry. Ellis is survived by his wife Carolee of Wells, MN; children: Mike (Kari) Fletcher of Mankato, MN, and Kim (Kevin) Kastens of Wells, MN; 6 grandchildren: Kjirsten (Ryan) Harvey of Plato, MN, Kathryn (Dan) Frenk of Waseca, MN, Aaron (Callie) Fletcher of Mankato, MN, Adam Fletcher, Ben Fletcher and Anna Fletcher all of Mankato, MN; 3 great-grandchildren: Abby and Maggie Harvey, and Lilly Frenk; siblings: Regis (Kendra) Fletcher of North Platte, NE, Chuck Fletcher of NE, Cathy (Doug) Harris of Lexington, NE, Bob Fletcher (fiancé Dee) of North Platte, NE; many nieces, nephews and their families.
