Elmer L. Campbell, 85, of Sandwich, IL, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his home. He was born October 11, 1940, in Oakdale, IL, the son of Orange and Opal (Hutchings) Campbell. He married Carol Ann Gladson on March 24, 1962, in Pinckneyville, IL. Elmer was a member of Nazarene Church of Sandwich. He worked at Lyon Medal for 40 years until his retirement. Elmer was an avid local sports fan and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed watching ISP Truck and Tractor Pullers. Elmer was a man of few words, his classmates were quoted saying he was “quiet but likeable.” He was a bowler and even bowled a perfect 300 game. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and grand puppies.
He is survived by his daughters, Lee Ann Campbell and Leslie Lynn (Dwain) Larson; his granddaughters, Jessica Lynn Larson and Jamie Lee Larson; his siblings, Pat (Joyce) Campbell and Joanne (Larry) Law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sisters, Gladys Mathis and Sharon Hinshaw, his brothers, Clifford, Merle, Paul, and Billie.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the funeral home in Somonauk with Pastor Matthew Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL.
