Lon Dell Campbell

Lon Dell Campbell passed away October 30th, 2025 at the age of 85 years.
Lon was born Nov 20th, 1939 in Rich Fountain, Missouri to Luther O. and Etta E. Campbell (Howard). He graduated from Tipton High School in the class of 1957 and went to work at Kenworth truck company in Kansas City, Missouri for 17 years until its closure. Lon then moved his family to Versailles, Missouri and worked at Gates Rubber Company for 20 years until his retirement in 2007.
Lon was a quiet man, loved his family, his farm life, and especially giving tractor rides to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lon enjoyed reading, classic country music, and watching western and mystery movies. He also enjoyed bird watching, and was an avid Chiefs fan since the franchise first moved to Kansas City.
Lon is survived by his wife of 46 years Rose E. Campbell (Breeze). He is also survived by his children Pamela K. Campbell of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ronald D. Campbell of Las Vegas, Nevada; Daniel H. Campbell and Tammy Dake of Hampton, Virginia; and Rebecca L. and Mike Jackson of Versailles, Missouri. Other survivors include his sister Leanna R. Huff of Eldon, Missouri; Ross and Vicky Breeze of Rayville, Missouri; Donna and Lanny Mullikin of Holt, Missouri; Joyce and Dave Youngs of Redoak, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lon was preceded in death by his father, mother, an infant twin sister Lora Mae, a brother-in-law Pete Huff, and a sister-in-law Lana Day.
Per Lon's wishes there will be no funeral service at this time. A celebration of life for friends and family will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles.
