Eloise B. Higgins

Eloise Betty Howard Higgins, 84, of Woodbridge, Virginia, died peacefully, on November 29, 2021, at 12:36 p.m. She took her last breath in the presence of her three loving children, to whom she committed her life to their wellbeing. In turn, she felt the reciprocation of her love to the very end. Eloise lived a very good, secure, and comfortable life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, aunt, and friend.
Eloise was born September 28, 1937, in Slab Fork, West Virginia, to Lloyd Lee Howard and Georgianna Nellie Smith Howard. Eloise has been preceded in death by five brothers: Harold, Boyd, Floyd, Leroy, and George; and two sisters: Geraldine, and Genevieve.
Eloise married James Polk Higgins, Sr., on December 3, 1958. She travelled the world with him through the United States Air Force, and their union created three beautiful children. James preceded Eloise in death on June 14, 2001. She lived 20 years missing him but enjoying her children and she kept busy by taken care of her grandchildren.
Eloise's descendants include three beautiful children: Anna Marie Capehart (Daniel), Angela Louise Kates (Ronald), and James Polk Higgins, Jr., (Sharrelle); eight grandchildren: Darnelle Toure (Corey), Nicole Kimble, Jose Gonzalez (Arienne), Alejandro (Alex) Gonzalez, Lauren Falls (Devon), Erin Smith, Teja Higgins, and Jalen Higgins; two great-granddaughters: Zoe Gonzalez and Rhiannon Falls. She is survived by four siblings: Ernestine Pierce (Roland), Melvin Howard, Everette Howard (Janet), and Cyrilla Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Eloise was a spiritual woman, and she ensured that, at a young age, her children were introduced to God; and they are all practicing Christians. The children are comforted that she was led to Christ prior to her death.
