Cherryville – Mrs. Eloise Dellinger Mauney, 93, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Atrium Health in Shelby.
Mrs. Mauney was born on June 7, 1931 in Cleveland County, NC a daughter of the late Henry Bryce Dellinger and Talathy Dellinger. She was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church in Cherryville and also a member of the Young at Heart and the June Medlin Sunday School Class. Mrs. Mauney worked at the First United Methodist Church kindergarten and retired from Cherryville East Elementary School as a Kindergarten teacher's assistant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold H. Mauney, Sr.; a sister, Margaret Sue Webb and a brother, Wayne Dellinger.
Survivors include her son, Harold Mauney, Jr. and wife Kim Helms Mauney; two grandchildren, Jennifer Cushman and husband Casey of Lexington, SC; Dustin Mauney of Cherryville; three great-grandchildren Grayson, Holden and Skylar Jane Cushman. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dustin Mauney, Loretta Beam, Danny Webb, Iris Walls and Dr. Thomas R. White and the staff of Hometown Direct Care for the care they gave to Mrs. Mauney.
The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Zack Christy officiating.
Burial will follow the service at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 601 S. Pink Street, Cherryville, NC 28021.
