Eloise Thompson, age 86, retired Verizon Telephone Operator, was called home to rest at Cambridge Gardens Assisted Living in Fredericksburg, VA, on Monday, March 03, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born November 04, 1938, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Sam and Pearl Nichols. On November 26, 1956, she was united in marriage for over 52 years to the late Eugene Thompson, Sr., in Birmingham, AL. Eloise accepted Christ in her early years and later united in fellowship with Ebenezer Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA, where she was member of the Golden Eagles.
In addition to her parents, Eloise is preceded in death by seven brothers, Sam, James, George, Green, Elmo, Emmit and Walter, and one sister, Annie.
Eloise leaves to cherish her memories: five sons, Eugene Jr. (Wanda), Louie (Debra), Warren (Valerie), Terrace (Jamie) and Carlos; two daughters, Myrna (Rogér) and Leneetha (Sidney); ten grandchildren, Layanna, LaNaisha (Mark), Cordarrow (Michelle), Brittney (Deshawn), Deidra (Teddy), Ceierra, Marshall, Mya, Tré and Tyra; five great-grandchildren, Kapys, Kameyel Blake, Ian and Blythe. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
