Elsa Lumpango Williams, 84, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on May 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 11 th at 11:30 AM at North's Funeral Home, with burial to follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM at North's Funeral Home.
Born Elsa Lumpango Balatucan on May 24, 1941, in Mobo, Masbate, Philippines, she was the daughter of Socimo Balatucan and Concordia Lumpango. Elsa attended school in Mobo Masbate and developed a hard work ethic through many jobs at an early age.
In 1969, Elsa met Troy Williams, and the two were married the following year in Angeles City, Philippines. Shortly after, they moved to the United States and were stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas. In 1979, the Williams family relocated to Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, where Elsa would spend the remainder of her life.
Elsa was a dedicated food service worker, known for her steadfast commitment and warm smile. She worked at the Longhorn Dining Facility and Mesquite Dining Hall at Dyess AFB for more than 18 years. She touched the lives of many through her kindness and generosity.
Outside of work, Elsa found joy in gardening, playing bingo, spending time with her family, and caring for her beloved dog, Scotty. She was deeply devoted to her loved ones and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 55 years, Troy Williams of Abilene; daughter Louisa Marie Parsons of Tye, TX; sons Franklin Williams and Antonio Williams (Mary Katherine), both of Abilene, TX; six grandchildren; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Elsa was preceded in death by her parents, Socimo Balatucan and Concordia Lumpango. Elsa was also preceded in death by her brother and sister from the Philippines.
Her family and friends will forever carry the memory of her strength, kindness, and unwavering love in their hearts.
