Elsie Crayton (Young) Segura, formerly of the Princeton area passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, at Arden Courts of Bath.
Born in Meadville, she was the daughter of the late Noble Kent and Lillian Louise Soper Young. She was married to Joe A. Segura when he passed away on February 11, 2014.
Elsie served two years in the United States Marine Corps in Parris Island, SC, Camp Pendelton, CA, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. She retired from the Dept. of Health, Vital Records of New Castle, PA. where she worked for 13 years. She was Christian for many years. Elsie was a 4-H leader of ten years in Princeton, PA, belonged to a homemaker's group for many years and was active in giving demonstrations for groups in the art of macramé, cake decorating, and other crafts. She had a "Spiritual Bottle Ministry" that was given in many Churches and organizations in the area.
In her later years, her main interest was the project of finding and writing about her family history. She has genealogy books in the New Castle and Butler libraries on her "Young" family and other family lines saved in the computer.
Survivors include two sons; Joel A. (Jazmin) Segura of Newton Falls, OH, and Aron C. (Ruth) Segura of Wooster, OH; daughter, Deborah M. (Daniel) Barron of Princeton, PA; and seven grandchildren, Amanda and Brian Barron and Niccole, Jared, Lauren, Catalina, and Summer Segura.
In addition to her parents and husband Joe, she was preceded in death by her son Darrell Kent Segura, brother, Howard Kent Young, and sister, Jean Francis Morningstar.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday October 31, 2025, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Princeton, Lawrence County., PA. Pastor Susan O'Shaughnessy will officiate the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.
