Mary Jane (Harbert) “Jane” Timmerman, 84, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph in Baden.
Born on March 18, 1941, in Spencer, West Virginia, Jane was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Rebecca Raines Harbert.
Jane proudly earned her B.S. degree from West Virginia University and her M.S. degree from Slippery Rock University. She began her career as an educator in the Ellwood City and Riverside school districts, where she touched the lives of many students. Later, she found great fulfillment as a realtor, helping families find homes and build their lives in the community she loved.
She was an active member of the Jr. Women’s Club and Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School. Jane had a passion for tennis and a love for travel-especially beach trips and visits with family across the country.
Jane is survived by her three sons: Robert L. Timmerman II (Eileen) of Surprise, AZ; Jason Timmerman (Emily) of Wexford, PA; and Scott Timmerman (Kristin) of Ellwood City, PA; as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Robert L. Timmerman, who passed away on September 14, 2004.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Jane will be cremated, and private interment arrangements will be made by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane’s honor to the Villas of St. Joseph Benevolent Program or the ALS Association of Western Pennsylvania.
