FITCHBURG- Elton Sebastian Dowd, 19, passed away on February 20, 2023.
Our beloved Elton’s journey began as Siobhan Erin Dalton Dowd, born in Worcester on February 21, 2003 to John F. Dowd, Jr. and Sharan Dalton. Raised in Auburn, he attended local schools and graduated from Auburn High School in 2021, legally transitioning to Elton during this time. Many also know him by variants of one of his many nicknames: Ziggy, Rin, DJ, etc..
Both highly intelligent and creative, Elton amazed all of us at everything he pursued. He was an academic marvel; at age nine he passed a college course from Stanford University in Statistics. Elton taught himself Japanese; planned to attend Clark University to study psychology. Influenced by Japanese Anime, he became a superstar cosplayer. He was an accomplished artist from birth on, of every medium; loved to write and study poetry, to sing and perform. His performances were magical stardust and his singing would enchant the room. Elton LOVED music. He recently picked up the guitar, was taking lessons, and playing like a natural. As a youth, he practiced Irish Step Dancing, Synchronized Swimming, Kung Fu, Iditarod mushing, and skiing, alongside many other interests. An avid gamer, he now officially holds the title of All Time Champion Mario Kart Racer. Elton also loved the ocean. Elton impressed everyone including himself when he recently purchased his first home. He was a lifelong lover of animals, especially his two cats, Mischief and the new baby, Grimble Grumble, and his beloved childhood dog Fletcher, who predeceased him.
Elton worked at the Autism Behavioral Center in Berlin and part time at the College of the Holy Cross in the cafeteria and bookstore.
Elton is survived by his father, John F. Dowd, Jr. and wife Christine; his mother, Sharan Dalton and her significant other, Pepper Brassard; his brother Kyler Dalton and his significant other, Erika Pabon; close family members, many, many other extended family members, and even more friends, and acquaintances. Elton inspired everyone he encountered and will be deeply missed by all.
Godspeed Ziggy. Godspeed Elton. Godspeed Siobhan. We love YOU always. Peace be with YOU and with us all.
Funeral services will be held privately and are in the care of the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.

John & Family
No words can condole you for such a loss.
That said, knowing Elton, his whole life, there is a void in the world.
There is an Irish Saying:
Death leaves a heartache
no one can heal;
Love leaves a memory
no one can steal.
That is true. My thoughts & prayers are with you.
God Bless

Sharan and family... I am deeply sorry for your loss. I remember when Elton was born when we lived across the street from each other. What a precious beautiful baby Elton was. May he rest in the most beautiful peace.
