Elvania Swayze

Elvania Swayze was born May 16, 1941, to Archie and Anna Nichols Smith and passed over from this life November 16, 2024, at the age of 83. She and Dolen Swayze were married 63 years. He preceded her in death September 23, 2020.
She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Brett; siblings, Ed and Earl Smith; sisters-in-law, Anna and Peggy Smith, Lucy Wilbourn, Mary Francis Robbins, and Anna Dearman; brothers-in-law, Lee Roy, Edward Dale, and Forrest Joseph Swayze.
Survivors include her children, Terry & Holly Swayze, Sherry & Bobby Green, and Jerry & Tina Swayze; grandchildren, Brandon & Shawna Burnett, Jerad & Rebecca Swayze, Ryan & Courtney Green, Brian & Jamie Swayze, Cole & Paige Swayze, Haylee & Wiley Green, Taylor & Brandi Hignite, and Ty & Karmen Hignite; twelve great grandchildren, Andrew & Madi Swayze, Camron, Amber, Skylar, Brandon, and Beckham Swayze, Leah & Kylee Green, Eli, Carter, Rhett, & Creed Hignite. Sisters-in-law, Pat Smith, Geneva Vigil, and Sue Ramsey. Brothers-in-law, Bobby Joe & Cleo Swayze, Dwayne & Pat Swayze and Jerry Don Swayze.
When her children were young, Elvania was very active with Lincoln Elementary School PTA, including countless hours working on floats for Pioneer Day and helping with Halloween Carnivals at the old National Guard Armory. Later on, she became employed at Okfuskee Memorial Hospital as the PBX Operator, working her way up to Business Office Manager. She continued in that position for Creek Nation Community Hospital and later retired from Prague Community Hospital. Elvania enjoyed all types of needle work and loved to read.
She spent the last three years at Colonial Park Manor, falling in love with the amazing staff there. She was a member of the Okemah Church of Christ.
At Elvania's request there will be a private memorial for her children and grandchildren at a later date.
