She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on May 14, 1948, the beloved daughter of the late Alvaro and Aurora (Aguilar) Trujillo. She married Daniel Rivera on June 10, 1967, in Flint, Michigan, and together they shared a life full of love and cherished memories. Dee was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She could often be found shopping with her daughters, a pastime that they all cherished. Dee also enjoyed family camping trips and traveling. She was a frequent visitor to the casino and also loved playing Mexican Bingo and other card games and was always ready for a good time with family and friends. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, Dee dedicated herself to the care of others, often serving as a caretaker for her family with the same nurturing spirit she had for her patients. Her kindness and warmth extended beyond her family to everyone she encountered. In 1965, she was selected from a group of young women to win the American GI Forum Beauty Pageant, an honor that highlighted her grace and charm. Dee was a woman of faith who loved attending church, finding peace and strength in her spiritual life. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family, always surrounded by love, laughter, and joy. Her legacy of love, devotion, and care will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Dee is survived by loving husband, Daniel Rivera; daughters: Tamara (Bryan) Bond, Kelly (Troy) Rivera-Craine and Danielle Rivera; grandchildren: Anita (Jammie) Edwards and Connor Bond; great grandchildren: Zachary Edwards, Kiley Edwards, and Isabella Edwards; siblings: Yolanda (the late John) Lipp, Irma (the late Patrick) Lane, Nora (Mark) Bass, Norma (the late Melvin) Hutchinson, Ernest (Sherry) Trujillo, Maria (Jim) MacFarlane and Susanna (James) Coryell; sisters-in-law, Fran (the late Danny) Gay and Linda (John) Smith; brother-in-law, Jeff (Karen) Rivera; grand doggies, Cooper and Miley; grand cats, Winston and Oliver; many other loving family members and friends.
