Elvira "Vera" Rzomp

Elvira Camera Rzomp, 93, of Erie, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025. She was born in Erie on March 24, 1932, daughter of the late Salvatore "Sam" Camera and Matilda Filippo Camera.
Vera graduated from East High School in 1950. In her later years she went to work as a clerk for Representative Bernard Dombrowski and then for Representative Italo Cappabianca. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, where she sang in the choir and also played bocce. Vera loved to bake, cook, shop and work in her lovely rose garden and yard. Vera was a member of the Glenwood YMCA and also enjoyed the casino, but above all, Vera loved her family fiercely.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Casimir "Casey" Rzomp; her sister, Mary Camera; her brothers, Michael and Robert Camera, and her grandson Ryan Rzomp (fiancée Cindy Kuerner).
Survivors include her daughters, Carol Weber (Jack), and Ann Schultz (Kevin Maleski) her son James Rzomp (Darcie); her grandchildren, Sara McCormick (Kevin), Julia Weber (Micah), and Casey and Molli Schultz; her great grandchildren, Colin, Lauren, Abby, Nora and Olive Vera, and many nieces and nephews.
Vera's family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful nurses and aides on the Hospice unit at LECOM, and the wonderful VNA nurses as well.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, Pa 16504, on Friday, December 12th from 2 to 5 p.m. and are invited there the following morning for a 9:15 a.m. prayer service followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
