Emmy passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025 at the age of 92
She was born in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. March 2. 1933. She was the daughter of Stella Allen and Melbourne Lyman Blackwell. She had two younger brothers Leo Paul Blackwell and John A. Vincent.
During childhood Emmy's mother remarried Hurd Stahl Vincent. Emmy began her schooling at The Hammett School, while living on the farm in Hammett. They sold the farm and moved to Boise, where she continued schooling at Franklin. And graduating from Boise High School.
While in high school she met the love of her life, Gage A Jasperson. Emmy attended St. Alphonsus Nursing school, while Gage was beginning his military career. They were married November 12, 1954, in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Emmy moved to Honolulu were Gage was serving. While in Hawaii, in 1956 Louis was born. They moved back to Boise where Ilene was born in 1957. Gage's military service took them to Denver where Kathleen was born in 1959. They were then able to return to the place they loved, Boise, where Cheryl was born in 1962.
Emmy was an excellent homemaker. She could cook, clean, can, teach, organize, sew, quilt, embroidery, crochet, paint and meal plan. And beat everyone in games. All while she continued her work as an RN at St. Alphonsus hospital.
Emmy and Gage kept active by attending family events and square dancing. They had the best friends and neighbors.
As a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in many callings. These included Primary president, Relief Society president, and 25 years as a Temple worker in the Boise Temple. She was known for her unwavering service, her quick wit, and her love and compassion for others.
She loved to travel with friends, family and their RV. Frequently returning to their beloved Hawaii.
Emmy was preceeded in death by her parents, her brother, her husband Gage A Jasperson. And her in-laws Glade and Elma Jasperson.
She is survived by her brother John(Kay) Vincent, sister-in-law Norma(Jim) Vermillion, son Louis(Kaew), daughters Ilene(Layne) Peterson, Kathleen(John) Whiting, Cheryl(Scott) Cooley, 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren.
Family will greet friends Sunday May 4, 2025 at the Relyea Mortuary, 318 N. Latah St.,
Boise, Idaho from 6-7:30 pm. The funeral will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Orchard Ward 701 S. Curtis Road,
Boise, Idaho on Monday May 5, 2025 at 11:00 am. Family will greet friends prior to the funeral from 10:00 am to 10:40 am.
Interment will be at the Cloverdale Cemetery following the funeral.
