Emery Todd Evans, a bright and joyful soul whose time with us, though short, was filled with boundless energy, passion, and love. Emery was born December 29, 2006 in Athens Ga to Dr. Torey and Caquea Evans. He departed his Earthly life on the evening of June 10, 2025 in the comfort of his home after many years battling epilepsy.
Emery began playing the drums at the age of 2 years old. From the start, it was clear that music was in his heart. He approached every beat with passion and precision, always particular about his drumset and how it was arranged. His love for rhythm was only matched by his big, infectious smile and his desire to share joy with others.
Emery deeply loved the Lord and gave his life to Christ at an early age. He had a heart full of praise and a spirit drawn to worship. Whether through playing the drums, lifting his voice in song, or dancing with joy, Emery worshiped freely and wholeheartedly. His passion for God could be seen and felt by everyone around him.
Beyond music and worship, Emery loved to sing, fish, play basketball, go bowling, build and play with dunk tanks, and compete in bean bag toss. His competitive spirit was always lighthearted, fueled by laughter and a genuine love of spending time with friends and family. Whether on the court or around the house, he had a way of bringing people together.
Emery's presence lit up every room. His playful energy, tender heart, and unforgettable laugh will remain etched in our memories forever. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, faith, creativity, and the reminder to cherish each moment and love fiercely.
He was preceded in death by his loving family members Barbara Evans, Ethelene Randolph, Rev. J.W. and Marion Evans, Carey Moon, Jimmy "Uncle Bubba" Sewell Jr., Alfred Williamson, and Sylvester Shields.
Emery leaves to cherish his memory his devoted parents, Dr. Torey and Caquea Evans; his beloved siblings, Princess Evans and Kade Evans; and his grandparents Roger Evans, and Jimmy and Bernice Sewell-his best friend. He is also remembered by his great-grandparents Shirley Parham, Dennis (Mary) Moon, Jane Banks, and Patricia Sewell; and his great-great-grandmother Catherine Sewell.
Emery's life also touched the hearts of his special Uncle Billy Shields, special Aunt Peggy Moore, and Godmother Kimberly Gilstrap. He leaves behind his precious niece Laylaa Edwards, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
