Emery Roy Gahl, aged 73, passed away on May 13, 2025, at his home. Born on February 13, 1952, in Wabash, Indiana, to Robert Henry “Bob” and Dorothy Kathryn (Heeter) Gahl, Emery lived a life characterized by dedication and love for his family.
Emery married Kathy Bahney on May 27, 1978. Their union spanned nearly forty-seven years, with nearly fifty years spent together, during which they welcomed four daughters into their lives. Emery was a devoted husband and a loving father, always striving to ensure that his family was well cared for. He embodied reliability and gentleness, traits that endeared him to those who knew him.
Professionally, Emery dedicated fifteen years to United Technologies in North Manchester before transitioning to Timbercrest, where he worked for nine years in the Maintenance and Custodian department. His strong work ethic and commitment to his roles were evident throughout his career.
Outside of his work, Emery cherished his time at home. He found joy in woodworking and was a fan of television classics such as MASH and The Andy Griffith Show. Sundays were special as he would often watch Les Feldick's church services, reflecting on his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The loving memory of Emery Gahl will be forever cherished by his wife, Kathy Gahl, Macy; daughters, Brenda (Josh) Webb, Logansport, Rachel (Joshua) Anthony, North Manchester, Amber (Brent) Cox, Fort Wayne, and Tiffany Gahl, Laketon; grandchildren, Derek (Katy Brown) Buckley, Zach (Heaven) Dennis, Matthew (Emma) Fox, Hannah Cox, Timothy Cox, Logan Poe, Isaac Poe, Christopher Poe, and Caleb Poe; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Eugenia Harvey, Servia, Leslie (Marie) Gahl, Fort Wayne, Rodney Gahl, Richvalley, and Ezra (Sue) Gahl, North Manchester. Emery was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Robert I. “Bobby” Gahl, Mary L. Cooper, and Ivana “Ivy” Epp.
Family and friends may call Monday, May 19, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Servia, Indiana.
