Obituary published on Legacy.com by Haught Funeral Home on Feb. 1, 2025.
We gather here today to honor the life and cherish the memories of a remarkable man, Emilio Lara Aguilar, who was affectionately known as Emilio to his friends and loved ones. Born on the 28th day of February in the year 1942, in the vibrant land of Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico, Emilio journeyed through this world until the 31st of January, 2025, when he peacefully passed away in
Plant City, Florida.
Brothers and sisters, let us reflect upon the life of a man who was the embodiment of love and humor. Emilio was a beacon of joy in the lives of many, touching hearts with his laughter and embracing all with his warmth. He was a loving husband to his dear wife, Tomasa Moreno de Lara, with whom he shared the sweet dance of life. Together, they raised a family that stands as a testament to their love: Martha Aurora, Emilio Jr, Jeronimo, Jose Guadalupe, Esther Esmeralda, Florencio, Roberto, Rosa, and Jose Francisco. His legacy is further carried on by his 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, each a shining star in the constellation of his lineage.
In the presence of the Almighty, we acknowledge the family that stood by Emilio's side: his siblings Jeronimo, Cristobal, Guadalupe, Roberto, Irma, Ramiro, Enrique, Irene, Oralia, Rafaela, and Santos. They shared in the joys and sorrows, the trials and triumphs, and today, they share in the remembrance of a life well-lived.
Emilio was a man of faith and fellowship, attending St. Clement and embracing the community with open arms. His dedication to his work and his involvement in various associations reflected his commitment to service and his desire to contribute to the greater good.
Blessed with a passion for life, Emilio found joy in the simple pleasures. He was a man who could be found reveling in the heroic tales of old western movies, cheering at the crack of a bat during a baseball game, or watching with bated breath during a boxing match. These interests were threads in the rich tapestry of his life, each moment spent in enjoyment a stitch in the fabric of his days.
Let us remember Emilio as the loving soul he was. His laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of those who heard it, and his humor was a light that brightened the darkest of rooms. Emilio lived his life as a testament to the power of love and the joy of laughter.
As we bid farewell to Emilio Lara Aguilar, let us carry forward the love he shared, the joy he spread, and the laughter he inspired. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit remains a guiding force in the lives of those he touched. We shall not say goodbye, but rather, until we meet again, for Emilio's legacy is eternal in the memories we hold dear and in the love that never fades.
Today, as we commend Emilio to the Lord, let us find comfort in the belief that he is now resting in eternal peace, reunited with his beloved parents, Cristobal Lara Cruz and Rosa Aguilar. We are blessed for having known such a man, and we are grateful for the time we were given with him.
May the life of Emilio Lara Aguilar be an inspiration to us all, a reminder to live with love, to laugh often, and to cherish every moment. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we celebrate the life of Emilio, a man who was truly the heart of his family, a friend to many, and a cherished soul to all who knew him. Amen.
