Emilio Miranda

Emilio Miranda, age 85, resident of Kenner, LA passed away peacefully on the 6th of November, 2025. Born on 4th of July in 1940, in Remedios, Las Villas, Cuba, Emilio's life was a testament of the human spirit and the joy of giving. His strength and bravery were shown in his endeavors to seek a better life in the United States of America for his family, were he resided for the last 58 years of his life.
Emilio was married Caridad Ramos for 20 years and raised three children. He then had a 36-year marriage with Miriam Miranda until her departure in 2020. He was a devoted father to his daughter Maria Miranda and son Edward (Cynthia) Miranda. As a stepfather, Emilio showed nothing less than heartfelt warmth and care to Evelyn Lopez and Denise Felix. His guidance and love extended to his grandchildren - Amanda (Ryan) Dunnagan, Miranda Laurent, Naomi Laurent, Jeremy (Arielle) Miranda, Brandon Miranda, and Jordan (Victoria) Miranda - and to his step-grandchildren Sergio, Gabby, and Miranda. The light of Emilio's wisdom and laughter reached his great-grandchildren Lilly, Mateo, Mila, Jensen, Drayden, Raelynn, Shelby, and Rebekah, as well as his step-great-grandchildren Dominick, Violet, Grace, and Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Miranda Rojas and Maria Mugica Aguilera; his first wife, Caridad Ramos; his second wife, Miriam Miranda; his beloved son, Alberto Miranda; and his siblings, Gabriel, Ana, Cira, Blac, Ortelio, Maria, Jose, and Esther.
For 34 years, Emilio served as the beloved owner and butcher of Alberto's Grocery in Metairie, Louisiana, cultivating not just a business but a community cornerstone. His genuine regard for every customer made his shop a local favorite. He had a love of sharing stories with others including those of his family, travels, and often times advice. Emilio was a man of faith, living out Christian principles that inherently inspired inclusivity, kindness, and charity in everyday life.
Even as we mourn Emilio's departure, we are comforted by the profound impact he had in our lives. His legacy of warmth, generosity, and enduring love will continue to grow and bear fruit in his family and the community he has forever touched. No one was ever a stranger in Emilio's presence, just a friend he hadn't had the pleasure of meeting yet. Emilio Miranda's life was one well-lived and will be fondly remembered and celebrated by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Service for Emilio at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA on Monday, November 17, 2025. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service to directly follow starting at 12:00 p.m.
