Emily peacefully passed away in the care and company of loved ones in the home she helped build and grew to love... just as she desired.
Emily is survived by her lifelong partner, husband Darrell Dean Henthorn, Sr., her five children Deana (Michael) Glenn, Darrell Henthorn, Jr., Christopher (Laura) Henthorn, Curtis Henthorn and Cori (Eugene) Heflin; her many grandchildren: Crew Henthorn, Keltie Henthorn, Zachary (Anya) Glenn, Margaret (Nicholas) Murphy Glenn, Katherine Glenn, Spencer Ludington, Gabriel Ludington, Ava Henthorn, Sawyer Henthorn, Preston Henthorn, Olivia Henthorn, Anna (Alex) Langenderfer, and Paxton Heflin. She also leaves behind 7 great grandchildren whom she loved and prayed for earnestly.
Additionally, she is survived by her two sisters Victoria and Jackie. Preceding her in death- her sister Barb Pellicer and grandchildren Emily Henthorn, Skyler Ludington and Augustin Heflin.
Emily will be fondly remembered for the home daycare she provided to generations of children spanning over 35 years in her home. Emily generously gave of her time and talents to others as a volunteer with Hospice, Starting Point as well as the families and children in her neighborhood.
With her faithful husband at her side, she created opportunities for her family beyond those in her own reach. When handed challenge, she met them with equal force and quiet determination. As woman of faith, she placed her trust in Jesus Christ above all else and fervently loved fellowship (and cream filled long horn donuts).
She lived with grit, strength and grace. Emily, always a champion for the underdog, saw the unseen. She enjoyed a good love novel, searching for a four-leaf clover amongst the green blades of cool grass, the warm feeling of the sun on her face, the sound of the ocean waves and sand slipping through her toes by the ocean side in Florida. Emily made life sweeter, filling her home with loved ones, homemade chocolate chip cookies and made from scratch pecan pie.
