Emily Johnson Obituary
Emily Elizabeth Johnson (nee Turpiano), 33, of Mascoutah, IL, born on May 31, 1992, in St. Charles, MO, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.
Emily was a jack of all trades. She was truly one-of-a-kind, the kind of soul one is blessed to meet only once in a lifetime. She was ambitious, strong, and extremely intelligent. She had recently been hired by Globe Life to sell health and life insurance. She previously co-owned/founded both Madness Labs and Disaster Logic, tech companies that created web apps and management systems to help businesses and disaster relief organizations. She worked part-time at the VFW in Mascoutah as well. She poured herself wholeheartedly into everything she did and never hesitated to go the extra mile for others. Her radiant smile and joyful laugh lit up every room, leaving a lasting mark on all who knew her. She loved to read personal growth and self-help books. She continually sought the deeper meaning of life, striving to understand the human spirit with compassion and insight. Her innovative mind was always dreaming up ways to make life better and easier for others. She loved being in nature, walking around town singing, karaoke, dancing, writing songs and poems, taking long drives, sunrises, sunsets, stargazing, bonfires, and spending time with family. She lived authentically, loved unconditionally, and forgave radically, and was a shining light in so many people's lives. She was a friend to everyone she met. She was a dreamer and full of wonderful ideas to create utopia. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched.
Emily was preceded in death by her sister, Jennifer Turpiano; and two great-nephews, Jameson and Julian Kaiser.
Left to cherish Emily's memory are her parents, James and Patsy Turpiano (nee Wilson); twelve siblings, James Turpiano, Robert Turpiano, Michael Turpiano, Daniel Turpiano, Joy Thomure, Sarah Savchuk, Rebecca Davis, Alison Adkins, Mia Turpiano, Andrew Adkins, Abigail Royal, Aaron Adkins; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great- nephews, Evelyn, Jimmy Jr., Landien, Nathan, Marilyn, Joseph, Anastasia, Isabella, Melody, Katilyn, and Aubrey.
