Emily Martin (Grott), of Stevens Point, passed away at home, on November 3, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 64.
Emily was born January 2, 1961, in Chilton, WI; daughter of the late Francis and Elaine (Witte) Grott. She grew up in the area and attended local schools, graduating from New Holstein High School in 1979.
After high school, Emily married Marc Martin. While the marriage later ended in divorce, the two welcomed 4 beautiful children during their marriage, and remained friends thereafter. Emily was a loving and dedicated mother who shared her uplifting nature and genuine encouragement with more than just her own children. She was proud to work as a special education assistant and loved it so much, she went on to obtain her teaching degree. Additionally, in 2007, Emily co-founded the First Choice Pregnancy Center, alongside her friend, Jayne Erickson.
Emily found beauty in every day and loved to be out in the sunshine. While her favorite activities included anything that meant spending time with her children and grandchildren, she also enjoyed taking walks on the local trails, listening to the birds sing, working in her garden, taking care of her many houseplants, and losing herself in a good book. She also had a passion for theater, often attending shows as well as starring in them. In fact, at one point, Emily had the honor to perform in Okinawa, Japan. Emily was the most caring, selfless and loving woman whose strength and kindness were admired by everyone who knew her. Her gentle demeanor and genuine compassion, even to strangers, allowed her to make friends easily.
Emily is lovingly survived by her children, Zack (Bre) Martin, Liz (Carl) Archambeault, Amanda (Aaron) Resch, and Gabrielle (Graham Prellwitz) Martin; her grandchildren, Trevor, Asa, Phoebe, Finn, Thayer and Harper; and her ex-husband, Marc Martin. She is further survived by her siblings, Mary Cameron, Ann (Marvin) Mueller, Jim (Kay) Grott, Kathy Brandt, Jack (Kelly) Grott, and Bob Grott.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Elaine.
