Emily Laurel "Laurie" Mauney

On December 30, 2021 the world lost one of the most positive and cheerful people imaginable. Emily Laurel Mauney passed away at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds from pneumonia. She is survived by her sons: Martin Michael Mauney and Joshua Joseph Mauney; her grandchildren: Nate, Alexis, Georgia, and Maggie; and her sister Toni.
Emily, or Laurie as most people knew her, was born in Pittsfield, MA on June 21, 1945 and lived most of her life in WA. She was married to Martin L. Mauney for 47 years and they raised their family and refurbished a beautiful home together in Gig Harbor, WA. Laurie moved to Edmonds, WA in 2017 to be close to her son Josh and his family.
Laurie was an avid gardener, creating beautiful borders and flower beds... it would be hard to find a plant she could not identify. Laurie was an excellent cook and always welcomed others to dinner. Laurie also worked as a hair dresser for many years.
Laurie was always ready with a helping hand, a compliment, or comment that always seemed to make life a little easier for those around her. Her positive energy, beautiful smile, and laugh are missed and will always be remembered.
