David (Dave) Jerry Mauney, 84, of Providence Forge, VA went to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family on December 22, 2025.

Dave served his country during the Vietnam War as a United States Marine Sergeant. He was a member of First Baptist Church West Point and had been a restauranteur. Dave was also an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Dolly Mauney.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra Ward Mauney; a daughter, Karen Whitcomb and her husband, John; his sister, Judy Capps and her husband, Larry; two grandchildren, Wesley Whitcomb and Sara Perkins and her husband, Jesse; his beloved cat, Prince Hemmingway Mauney; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. and the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30th at First Baptist West Point, 414 Main Street, West Point, VA 23181. The family will receive friends after the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Interment will take place in Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia, NC at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Kent Veterans, www.nkveterans.org.
