Emily is unforgettable. Her authenticity, her voice, her wisdom, and her capacity to love and be loved were compelling.

Emily Jane Sofaer had a singing voice when she accompanied her dulcimer that was as pure as light.
I feel blessed to have been involved with her.

I am very grateful to have known Emily, albeit briefly. I enjoyed hearing her perspective on films, and I'm so appreciative of her kindness, patience, and thoughtfulness in our work together. I am sad to have missed getting to know someone who had so much to offer the world. Sending kind thoughts and condolences to Emily's loved ones.

Even after a few brief chats in the parking lot, I could tell Emily was someone who greatly enjoyed all of the beauty this world offers. She seemed excited about her evenings and weekends no matter what she had planned...I got the feeling she was someone who knew how to enjoy each experience, each moment, to the fullest. She will be missed and I am deeply sorry to her family for their loss.

I didn't know Emily for very long, but she will forever be in my memory as a warm, kind, generous and enthusiastic person. She contacted me about participating in a project even before she started working at Cary. I was so looking forward to working with her. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed. Please know that she will not be forgotten.
