Emma Lou Bradshaw was born on December 20, 1941, in Burlington, North Carolina to Flossie and the late Walter Bigelow. As a teenager, Emma loved to dance and attended Jocko's Rocket Ship Dance Program in Newark, New Jersey every week.
Emma was raised in and lived much of her life in East Orange, New Jersey, where she met her husband and life partner, Clyde Bradshaw. Throughout her life, Emma embraced many roles with love and dedication. She was a devoted mother, a wonderful and loving grandmother, and a nurturing presence in the lives of many. Emma worked as a lunch aide and a home health aide, dedicating herself to the care and well-being of others. Her compassion extended beyond her family, as she was also a caretaker for many children, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Emma had a creative spirit and a love for the simple joys in life. She enjoyed crocheting beautiful blankets and sweaters, baking delicious cakes and pies, and fishing with her husband and sons. She cherished the many trips she took to Atlantic City with her best friend, the late Bernice Munford. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored her.
Emma is proceeded in death by her father Walter Sr., her brothers James and Ronald, her sister Barbara, and beloved son Troy Bradshaw. She leaves behind many people to cherish her memory. Her mother, Flossie Bigelow; Husband, Clyde Bradshaw Sr; siblings, Walter Jr. (the late Gloria), and Vivian (Ed); Her sons, Clyde Bradshaw Jr (Valerie) and Todd Bradshaw (Krystal); 4 Granddaughters, Bianca, Amber, Breeah, and Maya; 4 Great-Grandchildren, Cianni, Anthony, CJ, and Demi; and a host of family and friends.
Emma's legacy is one of love, care, and kindness. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her generosity, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
