Emma Emlet Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Home - Moorestown on Jan. 7, 2026.
Emma K. Emlet, age 102, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at the Evergreens in Moorestown, NJ. Born on September 14, 1923, in Northfield, NJ, Emma lived a long and fulfilling life that included loving support of the Evergreens staff during the last 15 years.

Emma was a homemaker until her daughter went to college and then started working as a bookkeeper for her brother's company, Diehl Welding of Atlantic City. Beyond her career, she was deeply involved in volunteer work with the Atlantic City Hospital. Alongside her late husband Carl Ireland, she participated in numerous fundraising efforts that supported the hospital's mission and services.

Emma found great joy in boating. She and Carl were proud members of the Power Squadron in Atlantic City, where they shared their love for the water with others. One of her most remarkable accomplishments was building a log cabin with her late husband Carl, her brother and his wife from scratch on the Mullica River. That cabin still stands today as a lasting symbol of her happy family memories.

Emma was also active in her daughter's early years, contributing her time and energy to the Brownies and Girl Scouts. She also had a great joy for Golf in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Carl Ireland; and her second husband, Charles Emlet.

Emma is lovingly remembered by her daughter Penny Watson and son-in-law Paul; grandchildren Troy Carl Watson, Keith Samuel Watson, and her Great Grandchildren Luke Watson, Leah Watson, and Sean Watson.

A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 15th at 2:30 pm at the Chapel of the Evergreens, 309 Bridgeboro Rd. Moorestown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Employee Appreciation fund
