Ms. Emma “Lou Lou” Gillerson was born January 29, 1950, to the late Jesse and
Elizabeth Smith. She attended Whitman Street High School, where she was a
cheerleader, and graduated with the class of 1969. She gave her life to the lord in
October of 1985, at the Reach Out Time Chapel, under the leadership of the late Willie
B. Hayes. Emma immediately stepped into and loved her calling as a prayer intercessor.
She was a faithful believer, whatever she stood on she believed whole heartedly. She
was a devoted member of Christian Worship Assembly, wearing many hats, but she
LOVED being a prayer intercessor. She loved her dear sisters that she interceded with
and loved people no matter the situation. She loved NBA basketball, gathering her
family for food, fun, and laughter, and was notorious for her cream cheese icing cake.

“Lou Lou” never met a stranger and willingly would open her home to anyone in need of
peace, salvation, or simply love.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Horace Smith and Maurace Arthur; sister,
Katherine Smith; brother-in- law, Gary Johnson; son- in-law, Jimmie Collins.

She leaves to cherish her memories, children, Eric Gillerson ( Heather), of Lavonia, Ga,
Tracie Collins, of Durham, NC, Kendra Brown ( Javonte), and Ronika Johnson (Alex), of
Lavonia, Ga; siblings, Julius Smith, of Toccoa, GA, Harold Smith (Mary), of Toccoa, Ga,
Betty Brown, of Toccoa, Ga, Mary Dooley (Derrick), Sandra Gober, of Toccoa, Ga,
Patricia Johnson, of Augusta, Ga; grandchildren, Alesa Curry, of Los Angeles, Ca,
Isaiah Gillerson (Mecia), of Gainesville, Ga, Hunter Barningham, of Lavonia, Ga, Kitaeji
Pless (Jamie), of Baldwin, Ga, Tiera Farrar, of Durham, Nc, Jimmie Collins III, of New
York, NY, Tyler Collins, of Florida, Ja’Zharia Brown, of Athens, Ga, Mikuria Johnson,
Nykhia Johnson, Malix Johnson, and Naylani Johnson, all of Lavonia, Ga; great-
grandchildren, Khiyonna, Asha, Nyeemah, and Noah; godchildren, Jasmine Baker
(Kevin), Quincy Smith, Johnathan Hayes, and LaVon Scott; special sisters, Elaine
Morgan, Sheila Gober, Bonnie Smith, and Apostle Helen Vehe; and a host of nieces,
