Emma Lee Smith 1957 - 2025
Emma Lee Smith, a beacon of love and kindness, left us on March 14, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on March 6, 1957, in Knoxville, where she would also peacefully pass, Emma's life was a testament to the power of warmth and friendship.
Emma, known affectionately as such by all, was a 1975 graduate of Gibbs High School. Her presence in the community was felt by many, as she was an active member of Old Beverly Baptist Church. Emma's life was characterized by her loving nature, her friendly demeanor, and her unwavering kindness, touching the lives of everyone she met.
Though Emma is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Betty Sellers; her husband, Jeff Smith; her sister, Mary Sellers; and her in-laws, Windell and Ruth Smith, her spirit lives on through her cherished family. She is survived by her brothers, Lester and his wife Becky Sellers, and Jim and his wife Teresa Sellers; her sisters, Sue and her husband Gene Lynch, and Sandy Sellers; her brother and sister-in-law," Jamie" and Kimber Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews, and a host of many other relatives and friends who will forever remember her radiance.
Emma's legacy is one of love and selfless connection, an example of the profound impact one life can have on an entire community. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her, and her light will shine on in the hearts she touched.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 1PM till 2PM with memorial services to follow at 2PM in the Claiborne-Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Russell and Rev. Mike Hurst officiating. Music will be provided by Harold and Sharon Flanigan. Graveside services will follow at the Watson Chapel Cemetery.
