Emmett Eugene Parsel, age 69, of Sparta, died June 1, 2023. He was born September 17, 1953, in St. Louis, to Louis Edward and Earlean (Johnson) Parsel.
Emmett was a true patriot, an avid outdoorsman, and a skilled mason who took great pride in his work. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, exploring on his four-wheeler, and spending time with his friends. He is loved and missed immensely by many.
He is survived by his siblings, Sherry Benton and husband Jerry of St. Louis, Brian Parsel of Columbia, and Keith Parsel of Nixa; his nephew, Joe Ittak of St. Louis; his nieces, Suzanne Shultz of Texas, Julie Putney of St. Louis, Melonie Pacheco of California, and Courtney Parsel of Nixa; and a dear friend who was like a son to Emmett, James Deckard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Earlean Parsel; his son, Jason Emmett Parsel; and his sister-in-law, Cindy Parsel.
A visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Lockhart Cemetery in Sullivan. Checks may be made payable to Lockhart Cemetery and mailed to Courtney Parsel, 508 Hillcrest Ave, Nixa, MO 65714.
