Emmett Renfroe Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Mr. Emmett Graham Renfroe, Jr, age 79, died at his home on November 20th, 2025. "Bubba" as he was lovingly known as his whole life, was born in Augusta, GA on May 13th, 1946. He attended Richmond Academy High School and later graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree from Southern Tech. He then went on to work for Southern Company, BE&K, Akins Construction, and Dabbs-Williams Construction from which he retired. His jobs took him all over the country where he made many friends along the way.
On April 6th, 1974 Bubba married Susan Rebecca Brannen of Statesboro to which he remained married until his death. They raised their family on the family farm in Bulloch County. Bubba loved his children greatly and always wanted them to do their best no matter what circumstances life would throw at them. He coached their sports teams, took them hunting and fishing, and led them to church.
Bubba enjoyed spending his spare time working on his cattle farm. He could always be found fixing fences, putting out hay, and riding through his herd. An avid outdoorsman, he loved bird hunting and in recent years enjoyed making memories with his grandson in the dove field. He never missed a chance to be with his two grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling them. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist church, Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission, Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia Cattleman Association, and a Freemason.
He is survived by his wife, Becky, of 51 years; his children, Trey Renfroe (Joy) and Emily Brannen Renfroe; and his two grandchildren, Emmett Graham Renfroe, IV "Gray" and Elizabeth Gay Renfroe. He is also survived by his two nephews, Allen Hyatt and Eric Hyatt, as well as numerous cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Glenda Sheffield and Melanie Hodge for all of their hard work, care, and dedication to Bubba and his family during his time of illness.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, November 24th, at 10am at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home, with a service following at 11am in the chapel.
A private graveside service will be held on the family farm.
Pallbearers will be Kent Brannen, Scott Brannen, Grant Brannen, Earl Dabbs, Brin Hubbard, David Pearce, and John Roach.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his nephews, Allen Hyatt, Eric Hyatt, Andy Dillard, and Joey Dillard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
