Emory L. Shatzer, 61, of Chambersburg, PA passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Born September 19, 1963 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Leonard E. and Linda F. (Swope) Shatzer of Chambersburg.
He was a graduate of James Buchanan High School with the Class of 1981. Emory then went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Pittsburgh. He was employed for New York Daily News for over 20 years. Most recently Emory was employed in shipping and receiving for Geodis, Chambersburg, PA. Emory attended King Street Church with his parents. He enjoyed reading and photography.
In addition to his parents, Emory is survived by a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as special neighbors.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 1, 2025 in King Street Church, 162 E. King Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Pastor Ron Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service Friday morning in the church. Burial will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, August 1, 2025 in Norland Cemetery, 2295 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road W., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
