Enn Kotkas

Enn Kotkas, of Rising Sun, MD passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Born on February 2, 1941 in Tallin, Estonia, Enn was the son of the late Heiti Kotkas and Silvia Nerska. Enn loved all aspects of biology, the environment, and nature. He was a Fisheries Biologist for Normandeau Associates in Drumore, PA for many years. Enn was fascinated by science; his hobbies included fishing, birdwatching, gardening, canning, photography, and woodworking. He also loved camping and going to the family cabin retreat in New York. Enn's heart and soul was his time spent with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna Kotkas; 3 children, Erin Mink and husband Lee, Erika Andrews and husband Art, and Erik Kotkas and wife Ann; 6 grandchildren, Dan, Lauren, and Emily Mink, Zachary and Madison Andrews, and Evan Kotkas; brother, Heiti Kotkas and loving companion Sharon; and cousin Epp Hardy and huband Randy. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the American Cancer Society and sent care of the funeral home.
